From the outside, the museum appears almost finished. But what is happening behind the scenes? When can we expect the grand opening? – Director Oliver Kornhoff answers all your questions which have been posted recently on our social media channels:
1) Which project is keeping you busy?
As the director, I am involved in many areas, ranging from exhibition planning and artist support to technical and logistical challenges unique to our museum. Working on the first permanent exhibition of our collection as well as the temporary show at the Museum Reinhard Ernst have been particularly time-consuming. We will share more on this soon.
2) Is a future exhibition featuring the artist Judit Reigl planned?
A solo exhibition is not currently on our list. However, you might be pleased that we will feature a work of art by the painter in our permanent exhibition of the Reinhard Ernst Collection. Our education department is also working on an informative program providing insights into Reigl’s extraordinary artistic technique. Stay tuned!
3) What are you looking forward to when coming into the office every morning?
I like the daily exchanges with my colleagues in our museum kitchen while enjoying a big cup of coffee. Also, I love seeing the progress made on the building every day, it really makes me look forward to our grand opening.
4) Which song is currently on your mind thinking of the Museum Reinhard Ernst?
Apart from enjoying classical jazz and electronic big band mixes, I love discovering new songs in the playlist created by our team. For example, “That’s Love” by Oddisee – do you know it?
5) Has the opening date been set yet?
Ah, the million-dollar question on everyone’s mind – mine and the museum team’s included! The building is near completion and we are planning to open by summer.
