Why does the artist paint it like that?
\nWhat is he trying to express?
\nWhy can I not even see what is shown here?<\/p>\n

These questions have motivated the\u00a0sponsors of the Reinhard Ernst Museum to focus clearly on conveying the meaning\u00a0of non-representational\u00a0painting and sculpture. They are convinced that\u00a0abstract art will arouse greater interest, especially among young people and\u00a0that their own creativity\u00a0can be considerably enhanced.<\/p>\n

Cooperation between the Reinhard Ernst Museum\u00a0and the\u00a0Alexei von Jawlensky Culture School in\u00a0Wiesbaden\u00a0is a major step in\u00a0this direction. A\u00a0cooperative agreement was signed by both parties in November\u00a02020.<\/p>\n

Under the guidance of teachers at the Jawlensky\u00a0School, several students had their first contact with abstract art at the\u00a0beginning of the year and took\u00a0part in the Abstraction in the Square project\u00a0with great enthusiasm, which was organised by the Reinhard & Sonja Ernst\u00a0Foundation.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the intensive collaboration\u00a0between the school and the museum is for the entire school community to regard\u00a0the Reinhard Ernst\u00a0Museum not only as a place of creativity and an exciting\u00a0cultural venue in Wiesbaden but especially to respond intensively to the abstract\u00a0art in the\u00a0Ernst Collection.<\/p>\n

The cooperative effort accompanies the\u00a0implementation of Abstract Art as one of the compulsory optional subjects that\u00a0were introduced in the\u00a02020\/21 school year. In the coming months, an internal\u00a0school curriculum is to be developed that includes all grades. In Abstract Art,\u00a0students can\u00a0with the foundation\u2019s support not only get to know the artists and\u00a0their works in theory but also experiment with their techniques.<\/p>\n

We look forward to cooperating closely with\u00a0them and many future projects.<\/p>\n
